After breakfast in Fes, take a half-day guided tour of the city to learn about Morocco’s spiritual heart’s rich history and culture. The UNESCO-listed medina is a great place to start. You can walk through narrow alleyways filled with colorful souks, old madrasas, and the famed Al Quaraouiyine University. Explore the busy tanneries and the beautiful architecture of the Bou Inania Madrasa. After that, depart Fes and start your scenic trip to Boulaajoul. Stop at Ifrane, which is famed for its Swiss-like architecture, and then drive through the cedar trees to Azrou, where the Barbary macaques live and play.
